Lot 88:
Significant CS Kline (1854-1917) Decorated Three Gallon Atlanta Georgia (Howell Mill District)Churn with outstanding cobalt Tornado decoration. Stamped Kline on the top. Early 1880s more than likely this is from the same kiln firing as lot before and only two known examples with this Tornado decoration. This one is three gallons and has a darker burnt salt glaze which was very close to the fire. This is a outstanding scarce example and would be a prized addition to any southern especially Atlanta stoneware collection. The churn is fresh from a Atlanta area collection. Condition: has some light chips from age and use and a typical firing line in rim and rings true, not a hairline and this is seldom seen in Kline pieces for some reason. Again the only two known with this example of decoration are in the are in the same sale, what are the odds. No repairs or cracks. Standing 15" Tall
