Description
Fine Barrow County One gallon Salt-Slip Glazed Jug that bears a striking eye appeal with a rich heavy salt and slip glaze. This piece is circa 1880s and has a collared mouth. The jug is strong Delay family of Barrow County and is a very nice example all the way around the entire jug with a lively glaze. The condition is overall very good with slight wear typical of age and use for time period, shows inner lip chip and slight glaze flakes on top of lip Also edge flakes on the edges of handle. One chip on other side of the handle, no cracks or repairs. Found in a Athens Georgia area estate. Fresh and standing 11 1/2" Tall
