Important Cicero Solomon Burns (1900-1964) Homebrew Crock of Lamar County Ga. What a scarce example signed – stamped CB Hand Made Georgia U.S.A. just south of Atlanta area. He is a noted African American potter and is one of two known documented potters of the state. This is a very scarce example one in being a homebrew crock and two the stamp and also him being a African American potter. This is truly a must for the southern pottery collector due to importance and condition and stamp. Heavily slip glaze with iron and is a very nice example. As for the condition its outstanding with one chip in the rim very minor, has a typical drying line in the bend of ant defender. A stress line due to rock being in clay but is glazed tight and rings true. No repairs or hairlines. Standing 18 1/4" Tall
