Description
Important Charles S. Kline (1854-1917) Atlanta Cobalt Decorated Jar circa 1883-1885 time period has a great salt glaze with slip interior and a strong and highly sought after cobalt parched bird on a limb with a 1 above the bird. The jar is highly important due to cobalt decorated examples coming out of the south and is not typical of stoneware makers of the south. The piece is outstanding was found in Atlanta in the 1980s in a home. This is a stellar piece and is very important. The piece fresh to the market out of a collection in eastern Georgia, & is in very good condition for age and use. The jar has typical wear to the rim with glaze flaking and two chip in rim on the outside and two in the inside of the rim. No cracks or repairs. Standing 11 1/4" Tall
