Description
Beautiful decorated Sand Mountain Alabama Lap Churn att. McPherson Shop from DeKalb County Alabama. This is a fantastic example with a great earthy medium olivine greenish alkaline glaze with two rows of fine wavy comb decorations, and also concentric lines as well. This is a great piece due to size and glaze, and being a lap churn this example is sure to fit into any Alabama collection. A fine example and the perfect size for any southern cupboard to display pottery in. Condition, has museum quality stress line restoration and can not been seen. Its that good, this is one of the best restorations I’ve ever seen on a piece of stoneware. This is from a private Atlanta area collection. Standing 10" Tall x 6 1/2" Width at base.
