Description
One Gallon Sand Mountain Alabama Elijah E. McPherson (1860-1942) Lap Churn in a rich dark earthy brown alkaline glaze, classic of Sand Mountain glazes. This example strongly points to E. E. McPherson by the handle in the lower terminal. This lap churn is a fantastic example and will make a great addition to any southern stoneware collection. Provenance: Years ago, this example was in the Countryman & Forbes collection and was traded for many years ago, now (present day) from a private central Alabama collection. Standing: 9 3/4" Tall
Condition: Condition: No chips, cracks or repairs, basically mint as made.
