Scarce & very early 1830s ash glazed Daniel Cribbs (1800-1891) of Tuscaloosa, Alabama two gallon jug. Fantastic example of early 1830s. Cribs Tuscaloosa AL jug with a wonderful lively ash glaze early old world form this example in Alabama stoneware is extremely sought after and very difficult to find. This example is truly a remarkable investment/ collector grade example with a 2 stamp in the neck. As far as condition one couldn’t ask for any better, no damage, no repairs or cracks and this one has strong eye appeal. This is a Cagle "Top Shelf Example" and will be very difficult to upgrade from. Folks, I challenge you to find another example this early in this condition. Also note this was the only alkaline ash glaze example documented by Countrymen & Forbes and is pictured on their website. This example is fresh from a middle Alabama private collection. 13 1/8" Tall
