Description
Significant 1860s Hawkins Peaden (1850-1931) of Blount County, Alabama One Gallon Jug. This example is a highly significant example of Blunt County pottery and has a beautiful ash glaze with a tooled rim examples from Hawkins Peden are extremely scarce and do not show up at auction. This example has got fantastic eye appeal, and form. This is in collector grade condition with a few insignificant lip edge flakes and glaze chips, no cracks or repairs present. This example is a Cagle Top Shelf Example and will be very difficult to upgrade from. This example was documented many years ago by Countryman and Forbes and is photographed on the website for reference material. Provenance: Private middle Alabama collection. Standing: 12" Tall
