Beautiful Sand Mountain Alabama 2 Gallon Lime Glazed Jug. Outstanding 1900-1913 time period, Sand Mountain Alabama (DeKalb County) This 2-gallon Sand Mountain Alabama Jug Is strongly attributed to Potter Elijah Edmond McPherson (1860-1942) Based off stamped examples of other Sand Mountain pieces of pottery. This jug has an outstanding lime alkaline glaze in fantastic form and the classic E.E. McPherson handle and lower terminal. A fantastic addition to any southern, Alabama stoneware collection. Fresh to the market example. Provenance: Years ago, this example was in the Countryman & Forbes collection and was traded for many years ago, now (present day) from a private central Alabama collection. Standing: 15" Tall
Condition: Condition: 2 insignificant glaze flakes on the lip and two insignificant small base ships/ flakes. No cracks and no repairs.
