This double handle jar has a unique glaze that is indicative to only Elmore County, examples from Elmore County show heavy iron pops in stellar eye appeal. As a collector one couldn’t ask for any better glaze on a jar especially from Alabama, this piece will make a fantastic addition to any southern collection or museum. This jug was documented on Countrymen & Forbes website years ago for research material (Elmore Co.) section on the website. Provenance: Years ago, this example was in the Countryman & Forbes collection and was traded for many years ago, now (present day) from a Private central Alabama collection. Condition: Two insignificant glaze plates, otherwise no condition issues or repairs Standing: 14 3/4" Tall
