Rare Andrew Jackson Rye 4gal Rye Jar With Lid
Description
Rare Andrew Jackson Rye "Jack" (Born 1836 TN – Died 1910) Four Gallon Jar With Unglazed Lid with outstanding glaze. The jar is a stunning form with a woodfired ash glaze that with earthy olive green alkaline glaze with a sandy tannish body. The jar is some of the most sought after pieces of Alabama stoneware and very few examples have surfaced, has the original lid. Lid is in mint condition. The jar has s 4 scratched on the side next to the handle. Condition is outstanding for age 1880s, one top rim chip, nothing major. No cracks or repairs. Standing 15 1/4" Tall
