Outstanding slip glaze figural flask / jug with outstanding facial details and was noted to be made for Judge Irby Pope (1883-1948) made in the 1930’s the main median period of Pope’s tenure as a judge. judge in Perry County Alabama. Highly detailed facial features down to a suit. In exceptional condition. Also noted three different examples in Joey Brackner Alabama Folk Pottery Book, highly recommended if you don’t have it, please get a copy. Reference page 178. Scarce important example of Alabama folk pottery that is fresh to the market example from a Middle Alabama area collection. Condition is mint. Standing 8 3/8" Tall
