Signed Cyrus Cogburn (1782 NC – 1855 TX) Washington County, Georgia Four Gallon Jar. Circa 1820-30s. This double handle jar is just outstanding with the coggle wheel mark in the top shoulder next to the handle and is found in Washington County all the way to Texas. Beautiful lime green alkaline glaze with brushed iron glaze that just pops. The jar is strong collector grade and is a fresh example from Athens Georgia collection. Rare form with maker mark and is one of a few known examples. Condition: One chip in lip typical from age and use. Minor handle edge chip again typical from age and use. No Cracks or repairs. Base blow off and does not effect the integrity of the jar, holds water and no holes, or cracks in base, see pictures of base and inside of jar. Standing 14" Tall
