Fine Charles Butler (1902-1978 Montgomery, Alabama) African American Folk Art Carving of a Family with incised decorations. Relief carving on stand. Material is wood. Not signed, outstanding condition. 12" x 9" x 3"Acquired by Howard Smith from the wife of Charles Butler. Charles Butler works are included in the Smithsonian American Art Museum. He is also know for mainly his religious carving works.
