Fall Southern Pottery & Folk Art Auction
Lot 69:
Important Atlanta-Bolton Georgia, Charles. H. Bird (1850-1913) Two Gallon Crock. What a stellar example fresh from a private Athens collection-estate. This piece has everything one could want on a Atlanta cobalt decorated crock. The cobalt decorated bird is outstanding and is second one known and the first one is damaged and signed and more than likely was only two made, both have the same decoration and glaze. The jar on the backside is shows heavy salt glaze that burns almost black and is noted on some of Bird churns. This is a amazing example with very minor flakes, No cracks or repairs. A must for the Georgia collector. Standing 8" Tall x 9 1/2" Wide
Condition: very minor flakes, No cracks or repairs
