Description
Monumental example of a Five Gallon double loop handle food/storage jar from Perry County, Alabama. This jar has an exceptional golden honey alkaline glaze with darker glaze runs down the front of the jar, also has three sets of concentric line decoration that in case the jar. This is one of the finest known examples that Cagle Auction has had the privilege to auction out of Perry County Alabama. Folks if you collect Alabama stoneware this example is a must on your radar. This is truly a Cagle Top Shelf Example. Folks you will not be disappointed with this example. This example was documented at one time by Countryman and Forbes, and it’s pictured on their website for research material under Perry Co. section. Condition: Insignificant base chips.
